Call
to Duty and Buzz Babysitter
(next image) were created as a pair. Unfortunately I did not have the
skills to tie them into one and so only the second was entered into the
competition. Buzz gets a call from the temporary headquarters of the JLA
{Note the visual gags in there!} In the HQ Batman offers him a job. Too
late he discovers the job is babysitting. Simple plot from a simple mind.
I started the sequence by playing with an office thinking, "What if the
JLA were poorly funded?" Next, seeing the way others in the 3d-cc using
Buzz with quite a few plays on his wanting to join with other superheroes,
it was not too much of a stretch to come up with the second image. The
trouble here was keeping the image uncrowded. I wanted to put in Spiderbabe
bouncing on a web trampoline and Kid Punish playing Nikky Fury a ball
game - except the ball is a bomb! Two things stopped this. My computer
could not handle so many figures at once and the image just looked too
crowded. - so these are for later projects or doomed to remain fading
in my imagination.
